Gambling licensing in France
Online gambling in France is regulated by the Autorité nationale des jeux (ANJ). Only three online activities may be licensed: sports betting, horse racing betting and poker (jeux de cercle). Online casino games are not permitted. The ANJ publishes the list of approved operators and their authorised websites.

Key licensee requirements
- Hold an ANJ approval (agrément) for each activity offered, renewable every five years
- Operate only from an authorised .fr website
- Verify identity and age, and block players on the national exclusion register
- Submit an annual plan to prevent excessive gambling and protect minors
- Follow ANJ rules on advertising and commercial communications
