United Kingdom: Targetlocal's online licence suspension lifted

The Gambling Commission lifted its suspension of Targetlocal Ltd's remote licence on 13 October 2026, after what it called significant action by the operator. Ken Howells Sports Betting can trade online again.

What happened

The Gambling Commission suspended Targetlocal Ltd's combined remote operating licence (account 422) on 21 September 2026 after its enquiries found anti-money laundering failings. The suspension covered online casino, sports betting and virtual event betting under licence 000422-R-336567-002.

On 13 October 2026 the Commission lifted the suspension, saying the operator had taken significant action. The Commission's review of the licence under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005 continues, and it has not published detailed findings.

What this means for the register

IRLG's records for kenhowells.com, messagebet.co.uk and messagebets.com now show the licence as Active again, with a note recording the suspension period and the continuing review. The operator's non-remote betting licence was never suspended.
