Gambling licensing in Tanzania
Gambling in mainland Tanzania, including online sports betting and online casino, may only be offered under a licence from the Gaming Board of Tanzania under the Gaming Act, Cap. 41. The Board publishes official lists of licensed operators, split into land-based and online licences for each activity, and a list of unlicensed online gaming sites.

Key licensee requirements
- Hold a current Gaming Board of Tanzania licence before offering gambling in Tanzania
- Locate the gaming servers and systems in Tanzania and connect them to the Board's central monitoring system
- Verify the identity and age of every player; no gambling under 18
- Pay gaming tax and withholding tax on winnings
- Follow the Board's sports betting rules and advertising conditions
